Jalisco
The state of Jalisco, located in the west of Mexico, is the cradle of the national drink tequila and mariachi music. The outstanding sights are the capital Guadalajara, the beach of Puerto Vallarta, the agave plantations in the Sierra Tequila. Not far from Guadalajara lies the picturesque small town of Tequila, in the midst of huge agave fields, the raw material for tequila production. On the Pacific Ocean, the beaches at Costa Alegre and Puerto Vallarta attract vacationers. This is one of the most famous destinations on the Pacific coast. The seaside resort is nestled on the crescent-shaped Bahía de Banderas, one of the largest bays on the Pacific coast. The sea and the village blend with the last foothills of the Sierra Madre Mountains and the tropical rainforest.
