Guanajuato

The state of Guanajuato is located in the heart of Mexico. The colonial cities of San Miguel de Allende and the capital Guanajuato are among the most beautiful in Mexico. In the historic town of Dolores Hidalgo, the Mexican struggle for independence was called in 1810. León is the largest city in Guanajuato and an important center of the leather industry. Guanajuato was very prosperous in colonial times thanks to its mineral resources, especially silver. Accordingly, much was invested in the construction of opulent churches and stately homes of the Spaniards.
